Brooklyn Burns (she/them)
My name is Brooklyn Burns. I am from Toledo, Ohio, and it is my first year here at BGSU. I chose my topic based on my love for Marine Biology, and my desire to someday publish my own scientific and aquatic research someday. Some cool things about me are that I have a pet snake named Lilo, I love anything art related (especially painting/sculpture), and I absolutely love magic and nature.

Elizabeth Farren (she/her)
Elizabeth Farren, a Cleveland native, is a freshman majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women’s Studies, with hopes of providing therapy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Her WRIT 1120 course was themed around detective fiction, and as a Women’s Studies minor, she wanted to write about a prominent feminist character in the genre. Elizabeth wrote this paper to encourage discussion about feminism, gender, and inclusion in academia and media. In her free time she loves to shop, workout, watch The West Wing, and drink lots of iced coffee. She also has the sweetest beagle puppy named Lemon.
Abby Sherwood (she/her)
Abigail (Abby) Sherwood originates from Perrysburg, Ohio, and is a first-year student at BGSU. She is majoring in Psychology and plans on minoring in Journalism. Abby’s WRIT 1120 class has allowed her to delve into a research topic based on psychological studies that left a strong impact on her. In her free time, Abby likes to go boating, spend time with friends, and pet her dog Apollo.

Dawn Violet Todd (they/them)
Dawn Violet Todd is a first-year student studying Media Production with a minor in Theater. They find writing to be a superb outlet for personal creativity, especially regarding niche content. After connecting with their WRIT 1110 professor over an interest in sports, they used an intersecting love of storytelling and statistics to create “62.” Dawn hopes to inspire other nonbinary authors and artists to share their work in a society that needs creators more than ever.
