Hanif Abdurraqib was recently named a 2021 MacArthur Genius Grant recipient. His poetry collections include A Fortune for Your Disaster (Tin House, 2019), winner of the 2020 Lenore Marshall Prize, and The Crown Ain’t Worth Much (Button, 2016). His essay collection, They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us (Two Dollar Radio, 2107) was named a book of the year by Buzzfeed, Esquire, NPR, Oprah Magazine, Pitchfork, and other publications. His Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to A Tribe Called Quest (U of Texas 2019) was a New York Times Bestseller and on the longlist for the National Book Award. Abdurraqib’s most recent book, A Little Devil in America: Notes in Praise of Black Performance (Random House, 2021) is also a National Book Award finalist.
